This dataset depicts the general geographic locations of statewide Na Ala Hele trail and access for the public use as of October 2022. Public trails within the Na Ala Hele Trail and Access system are managed and maintained by Na Ala Hele Trail Specialists at DOFAW's district offices. Information was compiled and digitized by DLNR/DOFAW from various sources, 1998-2000. For a highter accuracy some trails have been GPSed and/or overlayed onto satellite imagey to verify accuracy. Updates provided 2002, 2010, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022. Latest update October 2022. Link: https://hawaiitrails.hawaii.gov/trails/#/.
